LMS CLASS 5 4-6-0’s Nos. 45156 and 45287Patricroft MPD consisted of two straight running sheds at right angles to one another and in its heyday was a hive of steam activity, but by 22nd June 1968, one week before closure, it was a shadow of its former self with few ‘live’ steam engines on show. Two exceptions were LMS Class 5 4-6-0’s Nos. 45156, with painted nameplates – Ayrshire Yeomanry – and 45287. Both lived on for a few short weeks at 10F Rose Grove. Photograph by Peter Hands
